Annelie's paintings are small in size and act initially as a secure and confessional space for her. Here ideas, ambitions, fears, and objects are worked in and out of the paintings many times until they resolve themselves. Her paintings feel as though they begin to take on their own life independently from her as she is making them, and she enjoys the fact that their outcome cannot be predicted when the painting has just begun it's journey. The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde is a book that has been of interest to her.
